McDonalds Egg McMuffin..........Lou Pappa

 

Ingredients:

 

Per sandwich. For a Sausage McMuffin with egg, substitute sausage for Canadian bacon.

 

1 large egg
1 English muffin
butter
1 slice American cheese - real cheese, not processed
1 slice Canadian bacon. If making a sausage McMuffin, use 1 1/2 patties of Bob Evans original pork sausage
1 12x12 sheet of wax paper
 
Instructions:

 

If making a sausage McMuffin:

press 1 1/2 sausage patties into 1 flat patty and cook per package instructions - set aside.

 

Pre-heat an electric skillet to 275 degrees.
Slice muffin and lay both pieces face down in skillet, applying pressure for 1 1/2 minutes. Set aside.
Place an egg ring in skillet.
Crack egg and pour into egg ring. Poke the yolk with sharp instrument so it flows. Cook for 2 1/2 minutes.
While egg is cooking, butter both halves of the muffin liberally with butter.

Place slice of cheese on bottom half.
After cooking egg for 2 1/2 minutes, carefully remove egg from ring and flip the egg.
If using Canadian bacon, place 1 slice of bacon on griddle. Cook for 45 seconds, flip and cook 30 seconds more.
Remove egg and place on cheese half of the muffin.
Place the sausage patty or Canadian bacon on top of egg and cover with top half.
Wrap McMuffin in wax paper and let stand 5 minutes.
Microwave 15 seconds on high.
Unwrap and serve.
