Lasagna Soup..........Lesley Pappa

 

Ingredients:
 

1 lb. ground chuck

1/2 lb. Italian sweet sausage links

1 onion - chopped

2 cloves garlic - minced

1 Tbl. firmly packed brown sugar

1 (32 oz.) box chicken broth

2 (14,5 oz) cans petite diced tomatoes

1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce

2  tsp. Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp. salt

3 cups Malfalda pasta

1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

 
Instructions:
 

Cut sausage into thin slices.

In large Dutch over, brown crumbled chuck and sliced sausage.

Add onions and garlic, cook 10 minutes, stir occasionally.

Stir in chicken broth, brown sugar, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning and salt.

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.

Add pasta and simmer until pasta is tender.

Stir in parmesan cheese.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on hot soup when in bowl..
