Italian-Style Pepper Steak..........Lesley Pappa


 

Ingredients:
 
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin steak OR top round steak 3/4" thick
2 tbl. olive oil
1 large green pepper OR red pepper cut into strips
1 medium onion - sliced
1/4 tsp.  garlic powder OR 2 cloves garlic - minced
23 oz. Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce 
2 cups hot cooked spaghetti
 
 
 

Instructions:
 
Slice beef into very thin strips.
Heat 1 tbl. oil on medium-high heat in skillet.
Cook beef until browned, stirring often.
Remove beef.
Heat remaining oil, add pepper, onion and garlic powder.
Cook over medium heat until vegetables are tender - stir often.
Add pasta sauce and heat to a boil.
Return beef to skillet.
Heat through and serve over spaghetti.
 
Serves 4.
 
Note: To make slicing easier, freeze beef for 1 hour.
